Wild Flower

Wild flower

Wild flower by stylishlysierra

Hello lovelies! It's rainy and dark out, so no outfit of the day post sadly. Instead, I made a
Polyvore set showing you an outfit that I would love to own/wear.

Army-Inspired Jacket - I own one like this, except mine has a hood. I love it so much.
Floral Headband - Always beautiful. See how I made mine here!
Knee/Thigh Highs - I've always loved these, so I'm glad they are very 'in' at the moment.
Dungarees - I lust after these EVERY time I go shopping, but they just don't suit my body type. :(
Polka dot crop top - Love love love
Gold Spike Necklace - I own a silver one very similar, but I'm just loving gold.
Dr. Martens - I want a pair soooo bad, I especially love the floral and studded pairs.
Skull Earrings - Anything skull related is right up my street. I love how the pair above look like Day
of the Dead sugar skulls.

REMINDER!

Hair Update: More Purple!

Hello lovelies! This post will be a diy and review all in one! I'll tell you how I got purple
in my hair while saving money at the same time. I'm all about experimenting with hair, and I see hair
as a way to express yourself.  I think hair is something that you should venture out with and try new
colors, cuts, and styles. Last time I got my blonde touched up, I asked my stylist to add a purple
streak in the bottom layer of my hair. I absolutely loved it, but unfortunately, it faded so quickly.

Everyone knows that going to the hairdresser's can be a bit pricey, which is a down side to
hair experimentation. I know a lot of people dye their hair fun colors on their own, so I thought,
I'll just try it out and see how it goes.

Part One: The Dye

Choosing the correct dye can be the most frustrating part of the process.
After reading online and watching many videos on YouTube, I was afraid that
my hair would be in horrible condition if I chose the wrong dye.

I decided to use a semi permanent dye because I figured that it would be the least
damaging product I could use. I bought the Ion Color Brilliance Brights in Purple
(link here) at my local Sally's Beauty Supply without a license. The dye was a thicker paste,
which I found very easy to apply. I was so glad that the product was not runny, and I ended
up absolutely loving the dye. The box says to leave the dye on for 20 to 40 minutes
depending on how vibrant you want the color to be. The dye worked very well on my blonde hair.
It gave my hair many dimensions and various shades of purple. The several shades are very eye
catching! My little cousin loved the purple in my hair, and she asked my mum to dye her's. She has
dark brown hair, so we were hesitant that the purple would not show well. It turned out a dark purple,
which I think is so lovely!

Part Two: The Foils (diy)

Here I will give you step by step instructions on how to add the dye
using regular foil. It is a very easy process, but I tried to include many details
in case a first timer is trying this out!

1. Brush through all of your hair. Make sure that your hair is tangle free.
2. Decide where you want your color to be.
3. Clip back the hair you are not dying so that the section you will be dying is easily accessible.
4. Grab some foil, any kind is fine! I bought Reynolds Wrapper Pre Cut Pop-up Foil Sheets
(link here) and just tore them in half, so 1 full foil sheet will equal out to 2 sections of hair.
5. Grab a pair of gloves and put them on. You will then empty some dye into a bowl and mix it
using a hair dye brush. You can tint the dye lighter by using any conditioner.
6. Fold a small section of foil over a comb with a long tail (commonly known as a tease comb, they
are really cheap at Sally's) and place under the section you want to dye.
7. Paint the dye straight on to the hair, beginning at a quarter of an inch from the scalp.
8. Lift the section of hair and be sure to paint the bottom side of the hair.
9. Make sure to fully saturate the hair. If you do not apply the dye evenly, you could have
spotty hair in the end.
10. Remove the comb behind the foil and fold the foil upward and close the sides (like in the
photo above).
11. Leave the dye on for 20-40 minutes.
12. Rinse the dye ONLY out of the section of hair that you dyed.  Do not leave any dye
residue in your hair. Washing your whole head may lead to your regular hair catching some of the dye.
13. Add some kind of 'lock in' product to keep the dye in the hair. I used Ion Color Brilliance
After Color Treatment (link here). Leave the treatment in for 4-5 minutes, then rinse out.

Overall, I highly recommend trying to dye your own hair. It's a very simple, easy
process that does not cost much at all! You will probably get several uses out of one tube
of dye. I have now dyed sections of my hair purple twice at home. The semi-permanent dye
lasted about a week and a half to two weeks the first time I tried this, which is not bad for a non-
natural hair color.

I hope that some of you try this out, it's so fun and a great way to express yourself. What are
your thoughts on non-natural colors like lavender, pink, etc?

Missing in Action: Where I've Been

Hello lovelies! I've been missing in action the past 2 days, and I'm so sorry for that!

This is going to be more of a lifestyle/where I've been post, just to show you all some various things!

So Tuesday afternoon, I went and saw Monster's University with my family. I absolutely
loved the film, it reminded me of my childhood. I was a little girl when the first film was released,
and now I'm a Senior in high school (my last year, eeek!). I think it is cute that the filmmakers
released Monster's University when the children of the original Monster's Inc generation are
getting ready to head to college within the next couple years. I highly recommend this film,
for everyone, no matter what age you are!

Tuesday night, I had a movie night with a friend I haven't spent time with in ages. We've been
through everything together, so I think we'll always be friends. We went out for pizza, ate
chocolate covered strawberries, had long talks, and watched movies. We of course had to take a duck face/kissy picture to relive our days as Freshman. We only made the duck face when we were younger, so the photo above is an inside joke to us. I'm so glad that we got together again, it was a fun night. (:

Please excuse how pale I am, and yes I am also a giant. (I'm 5'8")

I curled Tori's newly cut hair, and I also did her makeup. Her adorable 5 year old
sister watched my every move, it was too cute! She asked me to curl her hair, and I
said yes of course. She has really long but thin hair, so I just curled large sections.

Today, we went to lunch for Tori's sister's birthday and went to watch a film. Tori and I watched This is the End, which we weren't too fond of. I think the film was aimed more towards the male audience. While
walking out of the theater, I spotted a stand up poster for the One Direction This is Us movie. Being the obsessed fan girl directioner that I have been for the past 2 and a half years, I ran across the place to reach that poster...haha

The poster had a little cut out spot between the boys for fans to be able to take pictures with the boys,
which I loved. I must admit that I wished the cut out was near my favorite, Harry. Oh well, at least
there was a cut out! haha. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE.. okay I've calmed down for now.

I will hopefully post a 'How to Style' type of post tomorrow! It will be something new for me, but
I'll give it a go!

Stores I'm Loving: PLNDR.com

PLNDR

Hello lovelies! I'm always looking into new online stores to check out, so when I watched Bunny(grav3yardgirl on YouTube)'s PLNDR hauls, I had a mini freak out.

PLNDR is a flash-sale website, which means that the items are only featured for a set amount of time. Every shopping trip is a completely new, fun experience! I love to check out the site whenever new items are added, which is quite frequently. All of the items are very fashion forward, yet wearable! Just for signing up for the website, they emailed me a free $5 coupon automatically, which is awesome!!

The site features many different brands, at up to 80% off of their original price. That's a steal! Here are some of the brands featured on the site right now: Billabong, Cameo, Style Hunter, Crooks and Castles, Obey, etc...

If you would like to sign up for PLNDR, click on this link:

The photo above is a set I made on Polyvore showing a variety of the items. PLNDR also features fashion for men, which I would probably purchase for myself because I love some of the pieces on that section.

My Favorite Lipsticks

Hello lovelies! I'm a massive lipstick fan, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my
favorite lipsticks with you all! I tried my best to capture the exact colors of the lipstick, I hope they come off as the proper shades. Some of the photos may look small, but you can click on the photo to enlarge it.

Beauty Be Mine!

Beauty wants

Hello lovelies! I'm going to start doing these randomly. This type of post will basically be a beauty wish list, but I'm going to call them 'Beauty Be Mine' because I want these products to be mine...haha (:

Now let's get on to the list!

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil -
I recently bleached my hair a lot more blonde, so I am in search for the perfect matching brow pencil.

2. MAC 'All About Orange' Lipstick -
I'm sure you all know by now that I'm head over heels for orangey, coralish lipsticks. I'm eyeing up the shades 'Sweet & Sour' (currently sold out, *insert sad face here*) and 'Tangerine Dream' because they are absolutely gorgeous.

3. Bioderma Sensibio H2O -
I've never tried anything like this because my skin is so sensitive, but I've read countless reviews on this water cleanser type product, and I really want to try it out.

4. LUSH Mint Julips Lip Scrub -
They also make a bubblegum version, but I'm much more of a mint girl myself. I have had really dry lips lately, and everyone knows that's not too cute.

5. Benefit Benetint -
I used to wear this when I was in middle school. I received a sample of it from a Benefit box and it lasted forever. I had forget about this product until I saw Grace (from Grace of Beauty)'s post about it. She did an amazing job writing that post so check it out. (:  LINK HERE.

6. Pixi Eye Bright Liner in Nude
I love a light eyeliner on the waterline, but white is a bit too harsh for my eyes. I'd love to try a nude version!

7.  Stila Convertible Color in Fuschia and Petunia -
Cream blush is a gift from God. This one can also be worn on the lips, perfect!

8. False Lashes -
I adore a doll eyed look, so false lashes are right up my alley. The down side? I'm allergic to latex, which is found in most lash glue. :/

9. NARS Laguna Bronzer -
I could never justify buying this for myself seeing that it is $40. I'd love to find a dupe for it though.

What is on your current beauty wish list? (:

Outfit of the Day: How to be a Heartbreaker

Hello lovelies! Here's what I wore today, nothing special, just something quite casual. (:

Top - Old Navy
Necklace - Charlotte Russe

While on Spring Break, I went into an Old Navy outlet. I spotted this top and snatched it up. It reminds me of something I'd see at Brandy Melville or Topshop, except that it was only $4!

Might I add that it reminds me of Marina and the Diamond's song 'How to be a Heartbreaker'...which I absolutely love. ;)

Shorts - DIY

I bought the shirt quite oversized, so I styled it with my tighter high waisted shorts to tame it.

Shoes - Maurices

I would have worn black high top converse if I had them, but I chose these velvet studded flats.

Here's my face du jour, might as well show you all since I'm already making a post!

On my face:
Foundation - No. 7 Stay Perfect Foundation in 10 New Ivory
Concealer - ULTA stick concealer
Bronzer - ELF
Cheeks - Rimmel Powder Blush in Plum
Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 04 Sandstorm

Eyes:
Primer - ELF
Eyeshadow - Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Quad in Butter Crème
(only the creme shade all over the lid)
Liner - ELF Liquid Eyeliner
Mascara - Great Lash Big

Lips - Flower Beauty Kiss Stick Velvet in LS2 Petal Kiss

I can't rave enough about these Flower lipsticks. I looove them!

Well I hope you all have an amazing weekend. (:

Does anyone have any requests for posts, anything in particular?

Au revoir,

Haul: Victoria's Secret Bath & Body Care

Hello lovelies! Today's post is a haul. Victoria's Secret has their Semi-Annual sale going on, which means,
great products and cheap prices! I made sure to snap up some pretty pictures of the products before I used them, so this will sort of be a review as well. I will link all the products below if they are still available. (:

Brilliant Love with Diamond Dust: Luminous Body Cream

This product is sooo nice, I love it! The back of the bottle says it has hints of blushing peony and blackberry, and that is exactly what it smells like! I don't think this is available anymore unfortunately, I don't see it anywhere on the website. This body cream is a great consistency, not too thick or too thin. I love the 'diamond dust' finish because it is enough shine while being not too glittery, very pretty!

Fresh Sorbets Chilled Lychee and Pink Honeysuckle Whipped Body Soufflé

I would have never picked this up myself, but my mum picked it out, and I surprisingly love it! I'm normally not a big honeysuckle fan, yet I think this smells delicious! This was a limited edition product, so I can't find a link to it either. :/

VS Fantasies True Escape Collection

LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent. It reminds me of a tropical holiday out in the sun. Here's the description of the scent, straight from the Victoria's Secret website:
A sexy, cool fragrance. Make a True Escape in pure solar jasmine and juicy pomelo. Intensive formula is fortified with replenishing avocado and sweet almond oils, plus hydrating honey.
That description couldn't be any more right! I highly recommend this scent. (:

Deep Softening Body Butter

Great product. Especially nice for those with extremely dry skin!

Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream

Also very nice! I prefer to use this on my hands because it's quite thick.

Smoothing Body Scrub

I actually don't like this as much as my body scrub from Boots. Maybe if it was more intense I would have loved it, seeing how I have really dry skin. This would be a great product for someone with normal to oily skin.

Overall:  Victoria's Secret make quite nice bath/body products, although I prefer their fragrance section.

Have you tried any bath/body products that you love lately? If so, what are they?

Follow Me Around: Chicago!

Hello lovelies! I'm back from my short family trip. We decided to try something new and exciting, Chicago!

Chicago is roughly 3 hours away from our home. We have many family friends that have been and always recommend us to go. We finally broke down and decided to try it.

We left our home at around 7:45 am and drove 3 hours. We checked the weather and it said that it was going to be warm and sunny...so that's how we dressed ourselves, for warm and sunny weather.

Would You Rather: Beauty Edition Tag

Hello lovelies! I thought I'd post before I head off on a trip tomorrow. I'm so excited!
I should be back soon and I might try to post while I'm away.

Today I chose to do the tag- Would You Rather: Beauty Edition Tag. I saw this tag on
Maya's (spiderleglashes) blog. Here's her post:

Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I couldn't live without macara, eyeliner, and lipstick...I'd lose the palettes and eyeshadows!

Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I'd never cut it again. My hair is short (in my opinion)..so I'd love it if my hair got really long!

Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
I love the look of a coral cheek, but not on my skin tone..I'm too pale for that! So definitely a pink cheek.

If you had £1000 to spend, Would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
CLOTHES!!!

Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick all the way. The consistency of lipstick on your eyes sounds absolutely awful.
And, Black lips would be quite punk and something fun.

Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
MAC seems lovely, but I'd choose Sephora. So many different brands and products!

Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
One eyeshadow color! I'm a huge lipstick fan, so I couldn't live with only one color for the rest of my life.

Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Oh gosh..I have no idea. The weather here in the summer is soo hot and I'd probably overheat and pass out if I wore winter clothing...but our winters are so cold so I'd freeze to death in summer clothes.

I guess I'll pick winter clothes in summer.

Would you rather dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Dark Nails. I love dark cranberry, brownish purple, and black nails!

Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
Lip product. I could probably find something else to use anyway. I'd never give up my mascara/eyeliner. I look dead without it!

Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or a messy bun?
Messy bun! I wear them all the time anyway.

Would your rather never being able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Never use lipgloss. I usually don't like how lipgloss feels on the lips.

Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all? or sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie them...although that would look awfully tacky.. Maybe I'd cut a long fringe bang to hide them! haha

Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Nail Polish definitely, all though I do love it dearly!

I tag anyone and everyone!

Au revoir,

Outfit of The Day: I've Got the Midnight Blues

Hello lovelies! Here's an outfit of the day. I hope everyone had a great Father's Day today.
I hope you spent the day bonding with your father, if not, I hope you were with him in spirit. (:

Today I chose this lovely new dress my mum picked up for me yesterday.
At first look, I thought this dress was black due to the dim lighting in my bedroom, but upon
reading the tag I realized that it is actually a midnight blue. The whole dress is crochet,
and the crochet top layer is longer than the under-slip, which I really like! I love the neckline!

Belt- came with dress!

Sandals- Target

I chose sandals to make this dress more casual.

Hope you all liked this post! I may be off on a sneaky bit of a trip with my family...
so I don't know when I'll post next. I'll try to update either Monday or Tuesday!

Au revoir,
