Hello lovelies! I'm back with another 'fashion lusts' post! As August is approaching, I am getting
ready to go back to school..oh what a joy. It's still going to be summer technically, so summery clothing is still an option! Now, let's check out the clothing, shoes, and accessories I am currently eyeing up! (:

Hair Tutorial: Big, Voluminous Curls

Hello lovelies! With today's post, I will teach you how how to get big, voluminous curls. I absolutely
love big, beautiful curls. This is definitely my go-to hairstyle! It's fairly quick (under 45 minutes) and easy, so I hope you give it a try!

Step 1:  Spray your natural hair with a heat protectant (I'm using one by Vidal Sassoon) to make sure your hair doesn't become damaged! I also spray a dry shampoo (I'm using the Tresemmé one) in the roots of my hair because I think it helps with volume. (This style can be done on freshly washed hair or dirty hair, both work!)

Step 2: Section your hair vertically. By vertically, I mean in sections like above. I find this helps the curls lay nicer. I usually see people section their hair with the top and bottom. You can do this as well, I just prefer vertical sections with my hair.

Step 3: Begin curling your hair in 1 to 2 inch sections. Any type of curling iron or wand will work with this style, as long as it is 1 inch or smaller. I use one with a guide, and I absolutely love it! It really helps my hair stay in place. Curl each section for 5-10 seconds, depending on how well your hair curls. My hair curls very quickly, so I usually curl each section for a maximum of 6 seconds.

Step 4: Curl some pieces going towards your face and some going away from your face. This will ensure that you don't end up with all your curls forming one massive curl (so frustrating!!).

Step 5: Use your favorite hairspray (I'm loving S Factor Vivacious Hairspray, smells like strawberries!) sparingly after you have finished a section. Using too much hairspray can make your curls crunchy and hard to brush through!

Step 6: Let your curls settle while you do your makeup or while you are drinking a cup of coffee/tea. I have found that my curls brush out easier when I've let them set for 15 minutes or so!

Step 7: Gently brush out your curls using a larger brush. I know this may be a scary thought, brushing out the curls you just spent time doing, but I promise it will turn out fine! Just be sure that you aren't tugging or pulling very hard on your curls. I like to use a paddle brush because it is gentle on my curls.

Step 8: Begin to backcomb your soft curls using a wide tooth comb, starting at the ends of your hair. The more gentle you are with this step, the better your hair will turn out.

Now you are finished! Pretty quick and easy right? (:

What are some of your go to hairstyles?

Outfit of the Day and Follow Me Around Indianapolis

Hello lovelies! As my summer break is coming to an end, I've decided to make the most of my
remaining free time. I'm sure you have noticed my love for cities..I just can't help myself! The city environment is so lively and inviting. I love the bustling streets and colorful people.

Outfit
Top - Forever 21
Shorts - American Eagle
Necklace - World Market
Wedges - Kohl's
Handbag - Aldo

Hair & Makeup : 2nd day curls because I really didn't want to deal with doing my hair, whoops! haha
I just wore some natural eyeshadow with winged eyeliner and a pinky-nude lipstick.

My mum recently told me about an organic burger restaurant that recently opened in Indianapolis. We
decided to just go and try it out and we fell in love! Punch Burger is absolutely amazing!

They have sooo many options, which can be overwhelming. I decided to try the Aloha Burger...

Oh my...can you say delicious?! The food was so yummy and great quality. I highly recommend Punch
Burger to anyone who ever visits Indianapolis!

Next, we decided to 'walk our food off' at the circle. The circle is such a beautiful, striking place.
I was so inspired by the buildings. I especially loved the Circle Tower because the gold building was
glistening in the sun. I just had to try to capture the beauty.

After walking for a couple hours and browsing shops, I was craving Starbucks. A caramel macchiato was calling my name! ;)

Right down the street from Starbucks sat an amazing sweet shop called Rocket Fizz. This was the
coolest store; they had every candy and soda imaginable! They also had really cool stand-up figures and
posters for people to take photos with.

Oh my my my! They even had candy straight from the Harry Potter films. I was dying to try the Chocolate Frogs, but I told myself no because I had already splurged enough on the burger and Starbucks!

Have you ever been to Indianapolis or been on any unexpected adventures recently? (:

How I Style: Skater Skirts

Hello Lovelies! I wanted to try a different type of post today, so here is a 'How I Style'
that I hope you will all enjoy!

Skater skirts have been all the rage this summer, and I absolutely love them! With a basic feminine
shape, they are incredibly versatile and fun to style. I have seen so many different prints and colors out on the market. Another positive thing: They look lovely on everyone!

The Skirts
The most important element: The skirt of course!!

While shopping for skater skirts, remember to look for a nice, durable skirt with subtle pleating.
A really well made skater skirt should be either a thicker material. If you find a skater skirt that you just have to buy that isn't a thick material, that's completely okay! I have just found that the thicker skirts look nicer on me, but it may be the opposite for you!

Topshop, Forever 21, and H&M have really nice skater skirts in all sorts of colors and prints!

Now, here are some outfits featuring skater skirts!

Skater Skirt Outfit #1

Outfit #1: Daisy Casual

This is a really casual outfit. I absolutely love the 'muscle' tanks with the flowy, feminine silhouette of
a skater skirt. I would style the clothing with a simply daisy floral crown, high top converse, flower earrings,
and a fun neon bag. I think the neon bag really adds a nice pop of color to a monochrome outfit.

Skater Skirt Outfit #3

Outfit #2: Geek Chic

I think that collared shirts are soooo cute with skater skirts. I think the pairing gives a very 'classic'
50's geek inspired vibe. I would keep all the accessories monochrome...and how adorable are those saddle
shoes?! I need them in my life! haha (:

Skater Skirt Outfit #3

Outfit #3: Dressy Rose

This outfit is quite simple, with a dressy twist. The skirt and top could look like a really unique dress... I think the bright pink skirt paired with a tight black top is unexpected. I would wear nice black wedge shoes, a dainty ring, and a bag with a pattern to spice the outfit up!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I hope you guys liked today's 'different' post! I liked picking out different elements and putting
 them together. (:

How do you style skater skirts?

Outfit of the Day: Daisy

Dress: Love, Fire LA
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang

Hello lovelies! Here's a quick outfit of the day. It's so hot out in the Midwest, so I've been trying
to dress lightly. I went to TJ Maxx the other day and spotted this dress and instantly fell in love! It has
a pretty daisy print and is structured really well! I was so pleased when I looked on the tag
and it was only $20! Bargainous for sure!

When I put the dress on for a family party today, I had no idea what kind of shoes to wear. I think
that it would have been cute if I had black high top converse, but I've yet to purchase those. I
just chose some cute little sandals to keep it simple.

I also bought a couple more things while at TJ Maxx, so expect a haul post soon! ;)

Lifestyle Post: My Favorite Apps for iPhones

Hello lovelies! Apologies for the lack of posts lately..I must admit I have been lacking inspiration.
I want to do more than just outfits of the day or show you my face du jour. I've taken a couple days to
find some much needed inspiration and I'm back!

I consider my blog readers my friends, and I always share with my friends! So today I'm going to share
my favorite iPhone apps with you. I'll divide the apps into categories so you can just look into which apps you are interested in! I will also insert a screenshot of what the app looks like in the App Store
so you can easily find an app if it appeals to you! (:

------------------------------------------------------------------

Photography:
My personal favorite! I'm all about cute photographs for my social media (aka Insta!).
I'm always searching for cool new apps to spice up my photos.

VSCO Cam: This is one of my all-time favorite apps. It is widely used by the 'Instagram famous'
and can make your photos look really vintage or moody. My favorite filters on are F2, T1, and X1. You
can capture several photos in a row, even when your regular camera says that your storage is full.

Typic Pro: This is a really fun app that lets you express your creativity. You can add many shapes
and sayings to your photos. I love all of the fonts that the app offers as well!

PicsArt Photo Studio: Such a versatile app! It's almost like a mini Photoshop for your phone. I love
the faux bokeh masks.

Osmo Leaker Free: This app makes your photographs look AMAZING. The light leaks
are so realistic looking, almost as if you took the photo on a vintage camera!

Papelook: I always see photos on Instagram (mainly Meghan Rosette, her's are amazing!) where the person creates a collage along with a photo...and I am obsessed. I finally found a collage app that is extremely easy to work with. This app is perfect!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Social:
It seems like most people adore the social media apps..
but I really only use a few of them!

Instagram: Oh my love, Insta. I have a slight addiction to this app...I think everyone does! It's
really the only social media app I use on a daily basis.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Blogging:
*ahhhhh* love love love love

Tumbletail Lite: The best tumblr app I've used, other than you cannot see your messages in the 'lite'
version. I'm sure that the full version lets you have access to them. Also, you can sign into multiple tumblr
accounts with this app, so convenient!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Music:
Who doesn't like music?! I have tried out sooo many music apps, but
I can't stop listening to one in particular!

8tracks: This app contains playlists made by fellow music lovers. The explore tab is great because you can just select a type of music that you enjoy, and 8tracks will pull up playlists for you to choose from. I love the indie and French sections. I also use this app to create my 'Monthly Music' playlists!

Okay well there you go, my favorite apps! (:

What are some apps you are loving? Do you have any suggestions for me?

Au revoir,
